Marcus Prize – BMO

This award honours an established artist or cultural worker whose major contribution has shaped the development of theatre in the Canadian Francophone community. The recipient will be presented with a $10,000 bursary.

In the interest of succession, community development and the transmission of knowledge, the laureate must then choose a mentee for mentorship over the following year. The choice must be a promising theatre artist from the Canadian francophone community with a maximum of ten years of professional practice, all experience combined. The mentorship project must be discussed with the Foundation’s management. It could include, but is not limited to, a placement in artistic direction, dramaturgical coaching, assistance with directing or design, etc. The mentee will be awarded a $3,000 grant.    

Important : The application package must not include the name of the potential mentee or a description of the mentorship project.

Eligibility criteria

Work professionally within the theatre community of the Canadian Francophonie. By “Canadian Francophonie” we mean the provinces where Francophones are a linguistic minority.

The application must be submitted by another party (company or individual).
